In tribute to a friend, who over the weekend told me that as a young boy, he was required to play all the male roles in his little sister’s attempts to recreate Disney movies. A good brother, a great friend. This miniature LIttle Mermaid diorama. For Noah.

I’m a big fan of the Little Mermaid. I want this. Whatever this diorama is.

Just in time for Easter.

“Reservoir Peeps”
Semifinalist: Besides the Peeps and the chairs, everything in the diorama is built from scratch to mimic the setting of Quentin Tarantino’s 1992 movie “Reservoir Dogs,” says Carl Cordell, 55, who lives in Alexandra and restores vintage Porsches. “I’ve got a seven-foot screen in my home theater and spent a whole evening running the movie back and forth to sketch the details of the walls and how the bodies are lined up,” he says.

Don’t worry, there are tons more here for your enjoyment.

In need of translation. Not sure if there’s much to translate though!  The blog appears to belong to a French film maker/artist sort of person.  A neat miniature diorama of an Indy scene in a German crate.

BSG is great and all, but here’s one to placate the Star Wars fans: The Rebel Alliance Echo Base in the Hoth system.  Over 60,000 pieces, thousands of dollars and several years in the making.  Custom AT-ATs with remote operated motorized repelling snow troopers.  Enough lighting to knock out his house lights.  And at one point a snowboarding Chewbacca.  Pages and pages of pics at his flickr page: brickplumber’s photostream

Su Blackwell made these strange mixed media + photoshopped Wizard of Oz diorama-like art pieces for Harrods Magazine last year.  Also one for the Nutcracker, which sadly is a bit blurry.
